Full-time (exempt) position. Works Monday through Friday. Will oversee the integrated Outpatient Specialty Clinic and Surgery Departments. Dependent on applicant work history/experience, Myrtue Medical Center may consider more than one qualified candidate to oversee the departments separately. Plans, directs, supervises, and manages nursing activities in the delivery of quality, cost-effective patient care in outpatient/specialty clinics, surgery clinic, and perioperative areas (operating room, endoscopy, pre-op, Phase II recovery, and recovery room). Coordinates outpatient and surgery activities and programs with other hospital services and involved physicians. Assumes 24-hour clinical and management responsibility for the perioperative area. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) general operations (patient care, staff, supplies/equipment); policies and procedures; quality improvement/quality assurance activities; member of Nursing Quality Improvement and Nurse Manager teams. Management/supervisory experience preferred, but not necessary. Must be a graduate from an approved Professional Nursing program with current Iowa license. Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred. A willingness to pursue this goal is acceptable. Certification in Basic Life Support is required within 3 months of date of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is required within 12 months of date of hire. Utilizes and builds upon knowledge acquired through formal education.
Earling Rural Health Clinic. Full-time position. Works four days per week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm; Tuesday 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. Is of prime importance in helping the medical provider respond successfully to the increasing demands for his/her services. Is the essential link between the medial provider and his/her patients, professional associates, and equipment and medical suppliers. Delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing program possessing a current Iowa Nursing license or be a graduate of medical assistant training – possessing certification. Must either be certified in CPR or obtain certification during the first three months of employment.
Respiratory Therapy Department. Schedule varies: 6:30 am – 3:00 pm OR 6:30 am – 4:30 pm various days Sunday through Saturday. On-call hours as needed. Performs all aspects of respiratory care procedures; prepares and issues equipment; performs basic pulmonary function testing; performs ECG tests and prepares and issues suction equipment. Performs stress tests and holter monitoring. Other traits desired: ability to work under pressure, excellent communicator, strong time management skills, positive attitude, ability to be flexible/adaptable, ability to work well with others while using excellent interpersonal skills. Two to three years prior experience in hospital setting as a Respiratory Therapist preferred, but not required. Must be a graduate of an accredited school program by the (CoARC) Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care. Current Iowa respiratory therapy licensure required.
Multiple positions available: 1) One full-time position (36 hours per week) (15% night shift differential for full-time position); works 12-hour night shifts 7:00 pm to 7:00 am; 2) two part-time positions (24 hours per week); works 12-hour night shifts 7:00 pm to 7:00 am; 3) PRN – works 12-hour shifts, schedule varies; 4) one on-call position (works 12 hours per month minimum and one holiday. All positions include weekend rotation. Assists the professional nursing staff in providing quality patient care. Is responsible for performing a variety of patient care activities including, but not limited to ADLs, assessments, documentation, etc and related health care functions under the direct supervision of an RN or LPN. Reports to the Medical/Surgical Nurse Manager. No experience required. Completion of an approved 75-hour Nursing Assistant course and/or successful completion of Nursing Assistant Certification written and skills test or completion of one year of an approved practical nurse program or professional nurse program required.
Behavioral Health. Full-time (40 hours/week) position. Monday-Friday; Flexible scheduling
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing medication evaluations as needed, prescription medication checks and review as needed, and consultation with other mental health center staff as needed. She/he will evaluate and prescribe appropriate medications based on all aspects of client including age, mental health/addiction disorder, health condition and response to medication. Practitioner will complete prescriptions accurately both electronically and handwritten. Practitioner is responsible for outpatient services as needed, emergency services as needed, evaluation services as necessary, consultation and education. He/she shall consult with psychiatrists on staff on cases that may require additional review. The Practitioner is responsible for ordering laboratory and other diagnostic studies as necessary to safely prescribe and monitor medications and shall consult with the client’s family physician and other treating physicians as necessary to provide a coordinated service. She/he is responsible for undertaking individual psychotherapy, marital therapy, family and group counseling, play therapy and other therapy techniques within the scope of the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner’s training. He/she is responsible for undertaking inpatient consultations as requested by physicians at Myrtue Medical Center and other hospitals within the catchment area.
Five years experience preferred.
Hold Master of Science degree in psychiatric nursing or its equivalent, with certification as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in the area of psychiatric nursing. Hold a current Iowa license to practice as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner and to prescribe medications. Hold federal and state DEA certificates as necessary to prescribe medication. Maintain staff privileges at Myrtue Medical Center and any other hospitals necessary within the catchment area.
Home Health. Full-time (36 hours/week) position. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday; 8:00 am – 5:30 pm; Rotate call
The RN utilizes the nursing process to provide and direct quality patient care. The RN provides leadership when working with team members in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice. The RN participates with the interdisciplinary team to develop the plan of care and supports Home Health and hospice philosophies in caring for clients. The RN promotes health and wellness through education, clinical practice and home care for the ill and disabled.
Experience in acute care setting, home health, or hospice preferred. OASIS knowledge beneficial, knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid rules/regulations.
Graduate from an approved professional Nursing Program. Certification in Basic Life Support is required.
Petersen Family Wellness Center. On-call position; Evenings/Nights/Weekends.
Responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of those using the Petersen Family Wellness Center/Lewis Family Aquatic Center. Prevent and respond to emergencies. Enforce rules and regulations of the Aquatic Center. Current Lifeguard Certification required. The next certification class will be held in Spring 2021.
