Occupational Health Nurse – CMA/LPN

Occupational Health Outreach Department. Full-time position (40 hours per week). Is responsible for administering the occupational health service. Is responsible for preventative and health maintenance services and care of the injured worker according to approved nursing protocol. Must be knowledgeable of workers compensation regulations, must maintain precise health records and other required documentation, and must promote working relationships within the occupational health team of employer, nurse, and physician. Provides case management of injured workers. Keeps companies informed of injured employee’s progress and compliance in a timely manner and performs appropriate follow-up. Administers intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections according to medical provider’s orders. Qualified candidate must have at least two years of CMA or nursing experience. Previous experience in occupational health field preferred, case management, injury assessment helpful. CMA or LPN certification or degree required. Must be a graduate of an accredited certified medical assistant or licensed practical nursing program and maintain a current Iowa license. Must possess valid driver’s license and maintain auto liability insurance.

Maintenance Tech I or II

Maintenance Department. Full-time position (40 hours per week). Works Monday through Friday; On-call rotation consists of daily rotation equaling approximately 7-8 days per month including one weekend per month. Holiday rotation. Maintenance Tech I is primarily responsible for interior maintenance of the medical center’s buildings. Performs work in the construction, repair, and maintenance of structures. Examples are: flooring, paint, tile, cabinets, counter tops, framing, and drywall. Has some knowledge and skills in the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems within the facility. Works according to prints and/or sketches, operations manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications. Uses hand tools, power tools, precision measuring, and testing equipment. Secondary responsibility is to assist other facilities staff members in performing duties involved in maintaining equipment, machinery, and physical structure of the hospital. This includes periodic cleaning of medical center’s property, upkeep of hospital grounds, and disposal of trash and waste materials, and driving a vehicle to make pick-ups and deliveries in the local area. Often functions as a helper to more highly skilled maintenance personnel. Maintenance Tech II (boilers/plumbing/electrical/HVAC) has the primary responsibility for the medical center’s equipment that supplies heat, air conditioning, water, plumbing, compressed air, vacuum, electricity, and refrigeration. Performs specialized maintenance and repair and is responsible for the preventative maintenance of “said” systems throughout the facility. Operates at a Journeyman level or equivalent certification. Works with the Maintenance Tech I to complete construction projects throughout the facility. Maintenance Tech I should have one to four years general experience in building construction, repairs, and grounds. Maintenance Tech II preferred to have four years general experience in commercial and/or industrial boilers, plumbing, HVAC and hydronic systems. Prefer journeyman level certification. HVAC experience desired. Must know how to use common cleaning devices and demonstrates care for equipment. Alternates holidays and weekends. Required being on-call alternate weeks. Overtime may be required. Some switching of hours may be required. Must be able to drive a vehicle and maintain a valid state-issued driver’s license. High school education and general maintenance abilities required.

Float Nurse

Rural Health Clinic. Full-time position (36 hours per week). Works 7:30 am to 5:30 pm four days per week; includes Saturday rotation. Is the essential link between the medical provider and his/her patients, professional associates, and equipment and medical suppliers. Delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing program possessing a current Iowa Nursing license or be a graduate of medical assistant training – possessing certification.

Learning for Life Parent Educator

Public Health Department. Full-time position (36 hours per week). The Family Support and Home Visitation Parent Educator provides parent education/family support home visitation visits, implements the Parents as Teachers model, emphasizes parent-child interaction, promotes development-centered parenting and family well-being, utilizes the Parents as Teachers Foundational curriculum in culturally sensitive ways, assesses prenatal and child health status while partnering, facilitating, and reflecting with families to enhance and improve family outcomes. Preference is given to those who have one or more years of pertinent experience, including web browsing, email, Internet, word processing, and web-based software database use. Bachelor’s degree or four-year degree in Elementary or Early Childhood Education, Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, or related field is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Must possess valid Iowa driver’s license and maintain auto liability insurance. Current Iowa professional license as appropriate to professional discipline.

Environmental Services Staff – Satellite Clinics

Environmental Services Department. Full-time position (40 hours per week). Works five days per week 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm; rotating weekends/holidays. Cleans satellite clinics in Avoca, Earling, Elk Horn, and Shelby. Assumes responsibility for overall cleaning of patient rooms, work areas, and public areas according to standards of the hospital. Performs various cleaning duties, sweeps and scrubs floors, cleans restroom facilities, handles trash and recycled items, dusts offices, and performs other duties as assigned. Cleans patient and non-patient areas. Training and experience not required. Hospital will do on-the-job training. Must know how to use common house cleaning devices to keep areas clean. Must know how to care for equipment, how to measure cleaning solutions, and be alert to hazards. Completion of high school or equivalent preferred.

RN Float Nurse

Rural Health Clinic. Full-time position (36 hours per week). Works 7:45 am to 5:00 pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday; plus Saturday rotation. Is of prime importance in helping the medical provider respond successfully to the increasing demands for his/her services. Is the essential link between the medical provider and his/her patients, professional associates, and equipment and medical suppliers. Delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. No clinical experience as a prerequisite other than during the formal education process. Possesses the technical skills and knowledge of equipment mechanisms necessary to deliver quality patient care. Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing program possessing a current Iowa Registered Nursing license.

Environmental Services Staff/Courier

Environmental Services Department. Full-time position (40 hours per week). Works five days 11:00 am to 7:30 pm; rotates weekends/holidays. Successful completion of the work on a regular basis would result in a clean, safe, and attractive environment which is conducive to the recovery of ill patients and contributes positively to staff morale and the public relations of the hospital. The Courier Staff assumes responsibility for picking up lab work, linens, and miscellaneous items from the satellite clinics in Avoca, Earling, Elk Horn, and Shelby. Will also deliver supplies to the clinics and may be required to sort and/or transport laundry. The Environmental Services Staff assumes responsibility for overall cleaning of patient rooms, work areas, and public areas according to standards of the hospital. May be required to sort and/or transport laundry. Must have valid driver’s license. Must know how to care for equipment, how to measure cleaning solutions, and be alert to hazards. Completion of high school or equivalent preferred.

Myrtue’s Mental Health School-Based Therapy program recently was recognized by Iowa’s governor as a leader in integrated school-based mental health services for students and a model to replicate across the state. Responsible for providing a comprehensive array of clinical services, including but not limited to assessment, individual and family therapy for students 9th grade through 12th grade. Serves as an active participant in all clinical programs of the department and is responsible for providing a comprehensive array of clinical services delivered at the school including but not limited to: behavioral health evaluation, assessment, individual and family therapy, behavioral health crisis assessment, consultation, and education. Experience equivalent to two years and field experience in a similar setting during educational process. Must be eligible to be licensed in the State of Iowa to practice as an independently Licensed Mental Health Provider. Senior Life Solutions. Myrtue Medical Center is partnering with Senior Life Solutions to offer intensive outpatient group therapy service for seniors. Full-time position (36-40 hours). Works Monday through Friday. Provides therapeutic services for patients utilizing group, individual, and family therapy sessions to older adults in an intensive outpatient environment. Works within a small, interdisciplinary team with a focus on quality patient care and provisions of services ordered by a physician. Documents all completed services in compliance with provided standards and regulations and is thorough with detail and organization.
