Medical Records Department. Full-time position (works 40 hours per week) Monday through Friday. Plans, supervises, and coordinates the daily activities of the Health Information Services Department in accordance with professional ethics and the rules and regulations of the state and federal government in order to provide timely and quality services to Administration, Medical Staff, patients, families, and other organizations associated with the health care system. Also serves as the Medical Center’s HIPAA Privacy Officer. The Chief Privacy Officer oversees all activities related to compliance with federal regulations governing the privacy of health information. This includes the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures related to the privacy of and access to patient health information and compliance with federal and state information privacy laws. Provides leadership to the company’s committees, work groups, and task forces charged with creating and implementing an enterprise-wide privacy program. Prefer at least two years of experience in a medical records department. Must be a registered RHIT, RHIA or currently enrolled in an RHIT/RHIA program, with medical records experience. Must have full knowledge of ICD and CPT coding system and state and federal rules and regulations as they pertain to medical records.
