Phone Triage Nurse (LPN)

Rural Health Clinic. Full-time position (36 hours per week). Works 7:45 am to 5:00 pm four days per week – Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday; rotates Saturday. Prioritizes patient appointments for medical practitioner’s schedules. Utilizes critical judgement to coordinate with practitioner and clinical staff members for patient access. Obtains medical histories from patients/families/significant others/nursing homes, etc and triages necessity and priority of patient placement within practitioner’s schedule. Records briefly in chart. Assesses patient’s problems on the phone, triages calls, discusses with medical practitioner/nursing staff and returns calls. One year in previous clinical job preferred. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing program possessing a current Iowa Nursing license. Must either be certified in CPR or obtain certification during the first three months of employment.
