CMA/LPN Occupational Health Nurse / Learning for Life Parent Educator

Occupational Health Department. Full-time position (40 hours). Works Monday through Friday; 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. In this combined position the Family Support and Home Visitation Parent Educator provides parent education/family support home visitation visits, implements the Parent as Teachers model, emphasizes parent-child interaction, promotes development-centered parenting and family well-being, utilizes the Parent as Teachers Foundational Curriculum in culturally sensitive ways, assesses prenatal and child health status while partnering, facilitating, and reflecting with families to enhance and improve family outcomes. The Occupational Health Nurse is responsible for administering the occupational health service. He/she adheres to the mission of Myrtue Medical Center in all aspects of job performance. At least two years of CMA or nursing experience. Previous experience in occupational health field preferred, case management, injury assessment helpful. CMA or LPN certification or degree required. Must be a graduate of an accredited certified medical assistant or licensed practical nursing program and maintain a current Iowa license. Must possess valid driver’s license and maintain auto liability insurance.

Licensed Practical Nurse(LPN) / Learning for Life Parent Educator

Occupational Health Department. Full-time position (36 hours). Works Monday through Friday; four days 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, one day 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. In this combined position the Family Support & Home Visitation Parent Education provides parent education/family support home visitation visits, implements the Parents as Teacher model, emphasizes parent-child interaction, promotes development-centered parenting and family well-being, utilizes the Parents as Teachers Foundational Curriculum in culturally sensitive ways, assesses prenatal and child health status while partnering, facilitating, and reflecting with families to enhance and improve family outcomes. The LPN utilizes the nursing process to provide direct quality patient care in various settings. They assist in providing patient/family teaching. Maintains the standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Two years of nursing experience preferred. Previous experience in occupational health field preferred, case management, injury assessment helpful. Graduate of an accredited licensed practical nursing program and maintain a current Iowa license. Must possess valid driver’s license and maintain auto liability insurance.

Registered Nurse

Oncology/Outpatient Department. Full-time position. Works Monday through Friday; hours between 7:00 am and 4:30 pm. Responsible for the overall day to day operations of the Oncology Department and Infusion Clinic. Administers chemotherapy and coordinates the Oncology Clinic. Patient assessment, care planning, and patient education required. Utilizes the nursing process to provide and direct quality patient care in the Outpatient Clinic setting. Directs and provides patient/family teaching. Provides leadership when working with health team members in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Must be a graduate from an approved Professional Nursing program. Must be a Registered Nurse currently licensed in Iowa. Certification in Basic Life Support is required within 3 months of date of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is required for Cardiology Clinic.

Food Service Worker

Dietary Department. Part-time position (16 hours per week); works 6:00 am to 2:30 pm OR 10:30 am to 7:00 pm two days per week (may work extra days as needed). Works every third weekend; and rotates holidays. Performs a variety of food service tasks to ensure deliverance of meals/food for patients, cafeteria, and special meetings throughout the health system. One year of food service experience is desirable, but not required. Must have a general knowledge of cooking and using kitchen machines and equipment. High school diploma or equivalent required.
