Maintenance Department. Full-time position (40 hours per week). Works Monday through Friday with daily on-call rotation equaling approximately 7-8 days per month including one weekend per month. Rotates holidays. Has the primary responsibility for the Medical Center’s equipment that supplies heat, air conditioning, water, plumbing, compressed air, vacuum, electricity, and refrigeration. Performs specialized maintenance and repair and is responsible for the preventative maintenance of said systems throughout the facility. Operates at a journeyman level or equivalent certification. Maintenance Tech II works with the Maintenance Tech I to complete construction projects throughout the facility. Assists all other facilities staff members in performing duties involved in maintaining hospital owned and operated equipment, machinery, and physical structure of the hospital. This includes periodic cleaning of Medical Center’s property, upkeep of Medical Center grounds, disposal of trash and waste materials, and driving a vehicle to make pick-ups and deliveries in the local area. Rotates on-call responsibilities with other facilities staff members. Preferred to have four years general experience in commercial and/or industrial boilers, plumbing, HVAC, and hydronic systems. Prefer journeyman level certification – HVAC experience desired. Must be able to drive a vehicle. Must know how to use common cleaning devices and demonstrates care for equipment. High school education and general maintenance abilities required.
Respiratory Therapy Department. Full-time position (40 hours per week). Works 8-10 hour days; days and hours vary; on-call in addition. Performs all aspects of respiratory care procedures; prepares and issues equipment; performs basic pulmonary function testing; performs ECG tests and prepares and utilizes suction equipment. Performs cardiac testing such as but not limited to stress testing, Holter monitoring and 30-day event records. Staff may also be required to provide additional equipment or testing as directed by their director.
Medical/Surgical Department. Multiple positions available. Full-time days (36 hours per week) works 12-hour shifts 7:00 am to 7:00 pm; full-time WEEKEND PACKAGE receives 40% pay on top of base wage (36 hours per week) works Friday, Saturday, Sunday 12-hour shifts – five weekends on – one off (flexibility with weekend off) – one-year position commitment; four on-call positions, works one 12-hour shift per month; PRN (as needed). Utilizes the nursing process to provide and direct quality patient care in various settings: Med/Surg, Swing Bed, OB, SCU, ER, Outpatient, and Perioperative. Directs and provides patient/family teaching. Provides leadership when working with health team members in maintaining standards for Professional Nursing practice in the clinical setting. Must be a graduate from an approved Professional Nursing program. Must be a Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Iowa. Certification in Basic Life Support is required within 3 months of date of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is required within 12 months of date of hire.
Medical/Surgical Department. Multiple positions available. One full-time nights (7:00 pm to 7:00 am) position (includes shift differential); one full-time days (7:00 am to 7:00 pm) position; one part-time days (7:00 am to 7:00 pm) position; one part-time nights (7:00 pm to 7:00 am) position; as well as on-call positions; weekend/holiday rotation required. Assists the professional nursing staff in providing quality patient care. Is responsible for performing a variety of patient care activities including, but not limited to ADL’s, assessments, documentation, etc, and related health care functions under the direct supervision of an RN or LPN. Reports to the Medical/Surgical Nurse Manager. Completion of an approved 75-hour Nursing Assistant course and/or successful completion of Nursing Assistant Certification written and skills tests or completion of one year of an approved Practical Nursing program or Professional Nurse program required.
Dietary Department. Full-time position (40 hours per week). Works five days per week. Works as an Assistant Cook and Food Service Worker various shifts 6:00 am to 2:30 pm; 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, OR 10:00 am to 6:30 pm as needed. Works every third weekend 6:30 am to 3:00 pm as an assistant cook. Rotates holidays. Performs a variety of food service tasks to ensure deliverance of meals/food for patients, cafeteria, and special meetings throughout the health system. One year of food service experience is desirable, but not required. Must have a general knowledge of cooking and using kitchen machines and equipment. Completion of high school or equivalent preferred.
Medical Records Department. Full-time position (40 hours per week). Works Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Is responsible for the review, interpretation, coding, and abstracting of medical record information according to standard and current classification systems; identifies and applies appropriate diagnoses, procedural, HCPCS, and modifier codes to obtain accurate assignment for proper reimbursement and data collection in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting. Prefer one year of experience in coding inpatient and/or outpatient records with the use of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS classification systems. Coding certification is required through AHIMA or AAPC as a RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CCA or CPC-H. An incumbent shall also be considered if he/she is registry eligible or actively working toward accreditation or registration; or is currently enrolled in a certified coding program with certification to follow. Knowledge of coding software, medical terminology, abbreviations, anatomy, and physiology; major disease processes and pharmacology classification systems. Skill set in reading medical records, both written and electronic, and finding and resolving documentation discrepancies; operating computerized medical coding and information processing systems; operating a personal computer and utilizing a variety of software applications. Possible remote position; however, must be able to travel on-site for trainings and required meetings at employee expense.
Information Systems Department. Full-time position (40 hours per week). Works Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm; hours may be flexible. Serves as a liaison between the Hospital, Rural Health Clinics, Information Systems team, Revenue Cycle team, and electronic health record provider to communicate user needs and facilitate system modifications to meet user needs. Coordinates and leads technical planning and delivery of clinical and business system upgrades, deployment of new technology, and system upgrades. Functions in a team role, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary direct patient care teams, revenue cycle teams, and clinical systems super users. Develops and implements training pertaining to the staff use of clinical and business systems. Participates as an active and integral member of the informatics team and maintains the established standards of care through clinical and business systems improvement activities and staff education. Will examine current processes and protocols and compare to best practice standards, identify areas that require improvement, and recommend priorities based on governmental guidelines and quantify, plan, and implement process improvement projects. Minimum of two years of experience with a healthcare application in an IT, clinical, or revenue cycle setting is preferred. EPIC certification preferred. Will provide training if not EPIC certified. Strong problem solving, issue resolution, and data analysis experience required. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills needed. Understanding of all major clinical and business systems, documentation, and processes. Strong leadership skills in implementation of change management. Initiative to carry out the work tasks assigned without constant direction. Ability to set priorities, organize, and coordinate work efficiently, and establish good personal relations. Ability to pay close attention to detail is necessary in order to ensure accuracy. Bachelor’s in data analytics or related medical or business field or equivalent work experience.
Environmental Services Department. Two on-call positions available. Works varied schedule (hours/shifts/weekends/holidays) based on department needs. Assumes responsibility for overall cleaning of patient rooms, work areas and public areas according to standards of the hospital. May be required to sort and/or transport laundry. Successful completion of the work on a regular basis would result in a clean, safe, and attractive environment which is conducive to the recovery of ill patients and contributes positively to staff morale and the public relations of the hospital. Training and experience not required. Hospital will do on-the-job training. Must know how to use common house cleaning devices to keep areas clean. Must know how to care for equipment, how to measure cleaning solutions, and be alert to hazards. Completion of high school or equivalent preferred.
