RN – Med/Surg Night Shift

Full-time; 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.; 12 hour shifts. Starting wage: $29/hour; compensated for years of experience.

Utilizes the nursing process to provide and direct quality patient care in various settings – Med/Surg., Swing Bed, OB, SCU, ER, Outpatient and Perioperative. Directs and provides patient/family teaching. Provides leadership when working with health team members in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical settings.

Completes admission assessments and documentation. Appropriate assessments/reassessments completed with documentation. Initiates and individualizes care plans on admission. Reviews care plan per policy. Keeps practitioner/charge nurse informed of change in patient condition. Organizes and anticipates patient care needs, promptly answers call lights, and responds to request promptly. Functions appropriately in emergency situations.

Current Iowa license. Graduate from an approved professional Nursing Program. Certification in Basic Life Support is required within 3 months of date of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification is required within 12 months of date of hire. Takes responsibility for pursuit of continuing education.
