Behavioral Health Department. Part-time (20 hours/week) position. Tuesday (8 am-12 pm), Wednesday (8 am – 5 pm), Friday; (8 am – 4 pm)
The Behavioral Health Patient Care Specialist (PCS) is of prime importance in helping the behavioral health medical provider respond successfully to the increasing demands for his/her services. He/she is the essential link between the behavioral health medical provider and his/her clients, as well as other professional associates. She/he delivers client care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Behavioral Health PCS assists in the client teaching activities and maintains the standards of a professional PCS. The PCS also assists with the overall operations of the Behavioral Health Department. The PCS will be responsible for communication and negotiation with various insurance companies for pre-authorizations purposes. He/she assists the office staff when needed to ensure the continuity of the business functions.
Behavioral Health experience is preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of medical assistant training, possessing certification preferred. Medical Assistant are required to receive 13 CEUs per year or a total of 65/5 years within 6 months of hire.
